Poland

Poland has numerous historical and cultural sites, medieval castles, Baroque style palaces, kings’ residences, temples, sacred buildings, evidences of the development of different religions and traditions, open air museums, and mysterious constructions. Poland is a country with a rich history, for which reason it has 8 sites listed among the world cultural heritage sites protected by UNESCO. These include: the Warsaw Old Town restored from the ruins after World War II; Royal Krakow – the biggest site of history and culture in the world; Wieliczka Salt Mine – a seven-storey underground city; the city-fortress of Zamosc, Crusader Castle in Malbork; Auschwitz-Birkenau – the largest Nazi concentration camp; and the Bialowieza National Park.
