Medical insurance for foreigners covers expenses for medical services to a similar extent as public medical insurance in the Czech Republic. It covers preventative medical examination and vaccinations, medicine and medical equipment, dental help in a case of acute problems, pregnancy monitoring and post-natal care. In addition, it includes insurance of daily payments in case of hospitalization. This type of insurance is for people who intend to stay in the Czech Republic for a long time. Other types of insurance available are standard insurance, professional sports insurance, and additional post-natal baby care insurance are. These insurance policies are valid in the Czech Republic and Schengen Area States.
