Olomouc

Olomouc is a must-visit city and one of the main places of interest in the Czech Republic. It is situated in Central Moravia and used to be the capital of the  Moravian state.

If you set out for a trip to the city, you won’t have to spend a lot of time looking for its sightseeing attractions, since everything is located in the centre. Start with Saint Trinity pillar, which is a 35-metre high construction decorated with numerous figures. This pillar was built in 1754 and is the highest pillar in Central Europe.

At the same place you can find the town hall of Olomouc. Its clock is amazing. The clock is no less original than the famous Prague clock. There are altogether 8 clocks in one. But of course we won’t describe all the splendours of the city; we will just enumerate the things that should be seen first.

At the top of the list is Premysl castle which dates back to the 12th century, and Saint Moses church, where you can find the biggest organ in Central Europe.

Other places which are worth visiting include Hradisco monastery, Saint Virgin Mary church, and Saint Michael church.

Saint Vaclav Church. Here we should go into detail. The vessel for donations is decorated with loose diamonds, which creates an impressive sight. And of course if you are classical music lover, you simply must visit a concert in the Moravian Philharmonic Society. Walk in the park and have a stroll along the narrow streets of the city. The spirit of the Middle Ages is at every turn, which makes your impressions unforgettable. No wonder Mozart himself created his art here. Peter I stayed in the city too. Olomouc has always been renowned for being visited by famous people. But the most remarkable feature of the city is probably its relaxed atmosphere, and the absence of hustling. Everything is close by, so excursions through the city are not tiring at all. This probably explains why so many tourists are drawn to this city.
