Litomysl

Chateau Litomysl belongs to the UNESCO world heritage list. The chateau has retained its original form and was built in Renaissance style in the first half of the 16th century. It is located 15 kilometres to the east of Prague in the town of Litomysl. The facade of the castle – which hasn’t changed since its construction – is truly unique. There is a picture gallery in the castle, a museum exhibit, and an excellent restaurant where one can try traditional Czech cuisine. In summer, an international opera festival Smetanova Litomysl takes place here. The festival is dedicated to the famous Czech composer Bedrich Smetana.

The town of Litomysl is beautiful as well, and even an experienced tourist will find it worth visiting.
